original compositions played by Paul Halley
with Nick Halley and Gabriel O'Brien
'Nick & Friends' Benefit Concert for Capella Regalis
Five-time Grammy Award-winning keyboardist and composer, Paul Halley, will lead a unique ensemble of three keyboard instruments: piano, pipe organ, and harpsichord. Paul Halley will be joined by his son, Nick Halley, and Capella Regalis alumnus, Gabriel O’Brien. Halley's multi-layered and multi-faceted arrangements present an astonishing repertoire for a rarely heard ensemble. With melodies that evoke images from island shores to the steppes of Russia, with rhythms that derive from Renaissance dance to contemporary jazz, Halley delivers music with an enormous range of expression.
The compositions featured in this concert were created for the landmark 1999 recording "Triptych" featuring Paul Halley on piano, pipe organ, and harpsichord. Check-out this recording at this page on our website: Triptych | Pelagos Music
