A TRIO FOR PIANO, ORGAN AND HARPSICHORD

Three unique themes, each evoking a different mood, feature and then combine to create a work that sounds distinctly Tudor, perfect film score material. The BBC creators of the 2015 film version of Hilary Mantel's Thomas Cromwell Trilogy (Wolf Hall 2009) clearly did not know about this contemporary musical take on 16th century dances and entertainments, written so long ago, in 1999!

Included on the Pelagosmusic recording "Triptych", featuring keyboard works of Paul Halley (PEL1003)

'How could I have all those hours of playing time on a Dudash harpsichord and not indulge in a little pseudo-Tudor romp with all the necessary false relations and English cadences? If the film industry comes out with another Elizabethan period piece, I hope they will contact me.' (See description - clearly this 1999 composition was overlooked!)
