A WORK FOR SATB OR SSA CHOIR AND PIANO WITH OPTIONAL BASS/GUITAR, ORGAN, SOPRANO SAXOPHONE, AND CELLO
“O Praise the Lord” - the text of Psalm 150 is set to a melody from Northern Brazil giving the work a lively, rhythmic feel. True to the exhortation to “praise with the sound of trumpet, harp, cymbals, and dance”, this piece really dances! “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Hallelujah!”
Created for Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus for Concerts in The Music Shed, Battell Stoeckel Estate, Norfolk, CT, 1993. Concerts directed by Joyful Noise, Inc. founder/director Paul Halley.
