A WORK FOR SATB CHOIR UNACCOMPANIED
This Christmas spiritual is cleverly packaged in a new, hip and jazzy arrangement that is part laid-back Swingle Singers, part rousing Gospel choir. It will challenge your singers' abilities, especially their sense of dance and swing, but once learned this arrangement is unforgettable and unmatched. A fun, crowd-pleasing finale to a Christmas concert.

Go Tell It On The Mountain

Words and Music: Spiritual, 19th cent.
    Arranged by Paul Halley

    Refrain

Go tell it on the mountain,
    Over the hills and everywhere;
Go tell it on the mountain,
    That Jesus Christ is born!

    While shepherds kept their watching
    O’er silent flocks by night,
    Behold, throughout the heavens
    There shone a holy light.

    Refrain

    The shepherds feared and trembled
    When lo! above the earth
    Rang out the angel chorus
    That hailed our Savior’s birth.

    Refrain

    Down in a lowly manger
    The humble Christ was born,
    And God sent us salvation
    That blessed Christmas morn.

    Refrain

"An exciting and quite challenging arrangement of the familiar text and tune. Rich, jazz-inspired harmonies, carefully scripted syncopations, and a couple of tricky modulations, will keep everyone on their toes, but could well also bring a congregation to its feet.”  – The Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians
