Verbum Caro Factum Est
SATB choral score
PEL2012-Choir Unaccompanied
A WORK FOR DOUBLE CHOIR (MAIN CHOIR AND ANTIPHONAL CHOIR) UNACCOMPANIED. IT COULD ALSO BE PERFORMED BY ONE 8-PART CHOIR.
In Halley's setting of "Verbum Caro Factum Est" (The Word made flesh), the mystical with the earthly is suggested in the antiphonal nature of this work. The rhythmic and worldly immediacy of one choir is answered with the ethereal Alleluias of the other.
Commissioned by the Williams College Chamber Choir, Wayne Abercrombie, Director.

Texts
Verbum Caro Factum Est
Words: John 1:14
Music: Paul Halley (1952 - )
Verbum caro factum est
et habitavit in nobis;
et vidimus gloriam ejus,
gloriam quasi unigeniti a Patre,
plenum gratiae et veritatis.
Alleluia.
Gloria Patri, et Filio,
et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio,
et nunc, et semper,
et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
The Word was made flesh
and dwelt among us;
and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only-begotten by the Father,
full of grace and truth.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen
