A WORK FOR SOLO PIANO WITH OPTIONAL ORGAN OR KEYBOARD

The original ensemble version of this work was intended for release on the 1991 album, 'Angel On A Stone Wall', featuring ten new Paul Halley compositions. However, Paul Winter needed additIonal material for The Paul Winter Consort recording, 'Earth: Voices of a Planet', so the piece premiered on that album instead. In 1992, Paul Halley's "Appalachian Morning" was licensed for arrangement to John Williams and The Boston Pops Orchestra (Patrick Williams, arranger) for release on "The Green Album", and is often played at Boston Pops July 4th celebrations to date.

'Appalachian Morning' is frequently licensed for arrangement to marching bands and bugle corps, and is available in a percussion ensemble arrangement at Tapspace.com. For Permission to Arrange licensing information, see Pelagosmusic LICENSING or go directly to our arrangements administrator, www.tresonamusic.com.

Says one listener: "I heard this piece watching Aimachi Winter Guard several years ago...I thought this was a Pat Metheny composition; it has the movement I associate with Pat Metheny's music...Finally, I stand corrected, and finally learned who wrote this beautiful piece." -oldschooldrumcorps (youtube)
