Description/Remarks
PEL2014 Oculi Omnium - 'The Eyes of All Wait Upon
Thee, O Lord' was created by Paul Halley for The Chapel Choir of The
University of King's College, Halifax, where Halley is Director of
Music. From The Grace Before Meals from the Statutes of King's College
1803, the text invokes Psalm 145, verses 16 and 17 with words of
expectancy and gratitude. Lush and ethereal, this short work finds use
as a grace, an invocation or an introit, in Advent or any season of the
year. A work that is lovely in its simplicity.

Text and Translation
Oculi
Omnium
Words:from The Grace Before Meals (Psalm 145: 16&17 and The Statutes of King’s
College, 1803)
Oculi omnium ad te spectant, Domine: Tu das illis escam tempore
opportune. Aperis manum tuam, et imples quicquid vivit
benedictione tua. Miserere nobis, quaesumus, Domine; tuisque
donis, quae tua benignitate percepturi, benedicito per Christum
Dominum nostrum.
Amen.
Translation:
The eyes of all wait upon thee, O Lord. Thou givest them their meat
in due season. Thou openest thine hand, and fillest all things
living with plenteousness. Have mercy upon us, we beseech thee, O
Lord;
and bless these thy gifts which we are about to receive by thy
bountiful goodness, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
